The Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation (SMSF) is a Public Charitable Trust registered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in the year 2003 by Shri Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari.

SMSF offers a heart-based training to inculcate the principles of love, brotherhood and harmony through Heartfulness Meditation of the Heartfulness Institute. This has roots in the Sahaj Marg system of Raja Yoga.

An internally accredited curriculum is offered to impart heart-based meditation training to universities and colleges, corporates and government organizations, school children and local communities.

SMSF also conducts spiritual training for serious spiritual seekers in the fields of research and education.

Our charitable initiatives include scholarships for students, free medical services, independent and group spaces for meditation, and retreat facilities, to name just a few.

Kamlesh D. Patel is the Managing Trustee of SMSF worldwide.

The Heartfulness Institute offers a dynamic and practical approach to meditation, relaxation and self-development.

About Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation

Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation (SMSF) is a Public Charitable Trust created by Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari for the purpose of promoting the feeling of mutual love and brotherhood by practising the Sahaj Marg system of Raja Yoga meditation, irrespective of caste, creed, religion etc.

SMSF has been recognised as a charitable organisation under the Income Tax Act and has been granted 12AA registration and has also been granted exemptions under section 10(23C) and 80G under the Income Tax Act 1961. Sahaj Marg.about-img

SMSF is an umbrella for a number of activities, including:

    • Programmes in the fields of research, education, spiritual practice and training at the CREST centres in India,
    • Retreat centres in various places in India,
    • Meditation centres and ashrams,
    • Scholarships for interested seekers of spirituality to attend training programs, and
    • Free medical clinics.

Kamlesh D. Patel succeeded Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari as the Managing Trustee in December 2014.

Sahaj Marg Retreat Centres

Retreat centres provide space for spiritual seekers to be in touch with the simplicity and beauty of the inner Self, through introspection and meditation, so as to face life refreshed with a renewed sense of purpose and restored balance. There are retreat centres in various part of India.

CREST

SMSF Centres for Research, Education, Sadhana and Training (CREST) exist in Bangalore, India. These centres provide a place for opening the mind to the possibilities of human evolution, through spiritual practice and audacious thinking. They are centres of research and higher learning.

Medical Centres

The Free Medical Centres and medical camps of SMSF provide a valuable service in various regions of India, including places where medical services are not always available, e.g. remote rural villages. They also provide an opportunity for medical personnel to offer selfless service in the tradition of karma yoga.

Physicians, dentists, medical students, residents, nurses, lab technicians and other medical staff have formed the Sahaj Marg Physicians Group to offer their services in the FMCs. This group may be contacted at info@srcm.org.

The oldest FMC was established in Satkhol in the Himalayas in May 2001, followed by Chennai in January 2005. The Allahabad Centre was established in 2006 in Uttar Pradesh and more recently a centre in Jaipur in Rajasthan.

The Free Medical Centre in Chennai offers different systems of medicine – allopathy, homeopathy, accupuncture, physiotherapy – as well as specialties like opthalmology, dentistry, gynaecology, cardiology, dermatology, general surgery and orthopedy, pediatrics and general medicine. Necessary drugs are also dispensed free of cost.

As well as the regular activities in the Satkhol Medical Centre in the remote Himalayas, specialist camps are run every six months inviting doctors from all disciplines for three days. Future plans include establishing a DOT (Directly Observed Therapy) Centre for Tuberculosis Patients and an Operating Theatre.

Medical camps have been going in Madurai in south Tamil Nadu once a month on Sundays since January 2006.

Other medical camps have also been organized at Thiruvallur in Tamil Nadu, Kanakapura in Karnataka, and Hyderabad in Telangana.
